He was born November 21st, 1902 and died on April 21st, in 1985. On 22 Mar 1923, using an upright Foster Hewitt was t he first sports broadcaster to ever broadcast a hockey game on radio. Foster always had an enthusiastic voice when broadcasting a hockey game. Foster Hewitt was 20 years old, in 1923 when he was assigned to be a broadcaster for the first radio broadcast of a hockey game!
