Reviewed in the United States on November 12, 2015. I used a VTAC (Viking TACtics) sling on my last trip to Afghanistan and fell in love with it. This sling would be AWESOME... if it fit. I trained with it six months before we left so I knew what I was getting. If you just need a good solid sling for casual use and don't want to drop 70+ dollars on a BFG vickers sling, this would be a good choice. Definitely NOT something that will keep me from buying this sling again. If you’re vertically challenged like myself, you should look elsewhere. I originally bought and tested sling about 2 months prior to buying another. I will preface this review by saying I am 5’6, which I understand is short, but not THAT short. VTAC sling is a quality product with inovative ideas that makes it perform like it says. This sling had covers for all buckles and was well thought out.
I unfortunately wouldn’t recommend it when there are other slings that are twice the quality for similar prices out there.
Choked all the way up it provides a really nice pivot point without being too restrictive. It has all of the great features of the original VTAC, namely the ability to adjust it on the fly to provide the best shooting platform from whatever position you're in AND it is extra padded for increased comfort when you have to walk for 16 kilometers over uneven terrain. I mean it's just a sling, how much better can one be from another? Either one, you wont go wrong. You're welcome. Weapon Sling Confessions: a VTAC Bungee Sling Review May 25, 2016 by Brian (Rev) Norris 3 Comments I must confess, years of rock climbing have left me a bit impervious to being impressed by what ultimately amounts to little more than nylon webbing and some buckles. It is now a perfect fit. I have sinched it down to the point that the buckles are butting up to the padding at the back, and I only have about four inches of adjustment on the front end (which pretty much defeats the point of this specific sling), and it still doesn’t get the rifle securely around my chest when sinched down all the way (Which defeats it the rest of the way).

I really like the strap and it’s very comfortable and high quality (no surprise there). While the Troy is a good sling, I never got used to using it and the sliding padding didn't help. Other than that, though, it's a great sling. This is definitely more than your basic hunting rifle sling, but I would still like to see it priced a little lower. The sling is very high quality and comfortable. A quality sling made out of a rugged webbing. Nice to have a high quality sling on my rifle.
